What is floating?

Floating is an experience of ultimate peace and relaxation in which you spend one hour in a private, specialized pod filled with ten inches of highly-saturated Epsom salt water causing one to float completely effortlessly atop the water at near zero-gravity.

Can Anyone Float?

Yes, everyone can float…. the density of the Epsom Salt allows for it to occur naturally without any effort. Floating can be done by nearly anyone from stressed-out managers, overworked moms, athletes, and those individuals just wanting to escape from everyday life and experience a state of complete physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. We do however highly recommend that if you suffer from any medical conditions (clinically-diagnosed depression, etc) that you consult with your primary care physician prior to floating.

What if I am claustrophobic?

Many people are concerned that they might feel closed in or trapped. However, our float pods are a spacious 5 ft 9” wide and 8 ft 5” long (1.8m wide by 2.6m long), allowing one to put his/her arms over their head, out to the sides, and sit up in the pod if necessary. Although most choose to float in complete darkness, inside chakra lighting is a touch away. Lastly, although the doors to the private float rooms are locked, the door to the float pod can easily be opened at any time by the floater.

What if I cannot swim?

The floatation pod is only filled with 25-30cm (10-12 inches) of water and has such a high-density of Epsom salt that anyone big or small, will float gently in the water. In fact, many people restfully sleep while in the floatation pod.

What is Epsom Salt?

Similar to in the Dead Sea, Epsom salt (Magnesium Sulphate) is a mineral which has been shown to help detoxify the body, strengthen the immune system, trigger the release of endorphins, and provide relief for physical, mental, and emotional stress and fatigue.

Will I get hot or cold in the water?

No, you will not feel either hot or cold. The self-monitoring homeostatic tank continuously regulates the temperature of the water to 38 degrees, which is the temperature of the surface of the skin, which creates a true feeling of floating.

What effects does floating have on the mind?

The deep mental relaxation initiated by floating allows the brain to produce a greater amount of theta waves, which are accompanied by an increase in mental clarity, creativity, imagery, and memory. In addition, the release of the endorphins induces the feeling of elevated mood states which are effective in helping alleviate anxiety, depression, and negative mental habits.

Is there an age limit for the pods?

If you are under 18 years old you will need your parent’s permission. If you are over 80 years old you will need your child’s permission

Is it hard to float?

No. In fact, the less you do the better. It may take a couple of sessions to get the hang of it.

How long is a float session?

One to one and a half hours. Longer on request.

Can more than one person float at a time?

Why would you want to share? You can book with a friend, but you cannot float in the same pod together.

Do I get dehydrated for soaking so long?

No, your skin doesn’t even get pruney. You absorb a lot of the magnesium from the salt which has tonnes of benefits.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Are there any weight or size restrictions for floating?

One size fits all. I
